Much has been achieved in improving the quality of life in Bolton, including:

• key crimes are down by a quarter and burglary has halved
• street cleanliness in our worst affected areas has sharply improved
• there is an improved image and pride through the award-winning Bolton brand
• housing in the public sector has improved
• Bolton is now home to the country’s fastest-growing university
• the number of jobs in modern knowledge-based industries has grown by more than a third
• the Bolton Hub, located in Bolton town centre, has been established and is supporting our strong voluntary and community sector.

Progress on Bolton: Our vision 2007-2017 will be reported in 2010 and 2012, to show whether Bolton is on track to achieve its ambitions. We will be closely monitoring performance of the targets within the priority themes. If we are not achieving satisfactorily we will take appropriate action.
