Bolton's Local Area AgreementBolton's Local Area Agreement

Our community strategy – Bolton: Our Vision 2007-2017 – paints a compelling and exciting picture for the future.

Its twin aims are to secure economic prosperity and maximise the local benefit whilst at the same time narrowing the gap across six priority themes:

  • Healthy
  • Achieving
  • Prosperous
  • Safe
  • Cleaner and greener
  • Strong and confident

Our new 3 year plan for the community strategy (to follow) is the focus of the collective efforts of the Bolton Vision Partnership, a group of key organisations and agencies working together to improve life for everyone in Bolton. The Community Strategy 3 Year Plan is a set of challenging targets that we and our partners are focused on delivering.

Bolton’s Local Area Agreement 2008-11 (LAA) is fully integrated within this 3 Year Plan. The LAA is a set of particularly challenging targets we agreed with central government in those areas where we know we need to improve even faster. If we achieve those targets, performance reward grant will be paid to us by central government. We can invest this to further improve services and outcomes.
