What do we do?
The Bolton Vision partners are focused on improving the lives of everyone in Bolton. They are the lead agencies in those areas that affect us all – from health and education to housing and the environment. The partners are also working to ensure every resident in Bolton has a say in local decision-making, and feel safer both at home and out and about.
Through Bolton: Our vision 2007-2017, we have created a clear vision and ambitious high level targets designed to make a lasting and positive difference to Bolton. The document also provides the framework for the work of partner agencies within Bolton, setting out the outcomes we want to achieve and the differences we want to make by 2017 and by specific points in between.
The delivery of the targets in Bolton: Our vision 2007-2017 will be supported by other local strategies and action plans put together by our partner agencies. These are focused on service areas (e.g. housing, transport), themes (children and young people, neighbourhood renewal) or are organisation-specific (e.g. the Council’s corporate plan).
Key amongst these supporting strategies are:
- the Local Area Agreement, a three year action plan which sets more detailed targets to help achieve our outcomes
- the Local Development Framework which will guide the look and shape of Bolton over the next few years (this link will take you to the Bolton Council website).
